Autobiography
Jason Overstreet is currently a PhD Candidate earning a Doctorate in Systems Engineering: Reliability Engineering & Risk Management at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee (2009-Current) where his research is Decision-Making using CRM Data Structures. Most of his career has been associated with the Aerospace and Defense industry (Pratt & Whitney Space Propulsion, United Space Alliance, Honeywell, Computer Science Corporation) in an engineering statistician role, as well as the manufacturing environment (Elk Roofing, A.O. Smith). Assignments have included performing acquisition of  data,  performing  data  analysis for  missile  grade  air  using  statistical methods, incorporating Six Sigma philosophy, performing statistical analysis  critical   to   the   return-to-flight effort for the Space Shuttle program, probabilistic risk assessment, cost benefit analysis, quality control, regression analysis, and others quantitative tasks.

Jason’s education also includes M.S. in Applied Statistics from the University of Alabama and B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Information Systems from the University of West Alabama. He currently serves as the ASQ Regional Councilor for the Reliability Division as well as the Membership Chairperson for the local ASQ Middle Tennessee Section 1118. Jason is a military veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served his country with a 5 year enlistment of active duty followed by 3 years in the Naval Reserves.  He was honorably discharged in 1999.  During his enlistment he was the recipient of : National Defense Medal, Southwest Asia Medal with Bronze Star, Armed Forces Service Medal (2), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon(2), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, NATO Medal, Navy Good Conduct Medal, Navy Unit Commendation and Battle “E” Ribbon.  He is an active member of the Tennessee VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars).

Jason the Principal Statistician and Chief Consultant of The Vanguardian Group, Inc. (Tenn.). The Vanguardian Group helps businesses succeed in innovative, cost-effective ways and covers areas from basic accounting requirements to more complex needs. He believes in providing value to customers without sacrificing quality. His current research includes analysis of CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and BI (Business Intelligence) applied to diverse data sets. Key areas include advanced modeling in Warranty, Call Centers, Supply Chain Logistics, and Sales Forecasting.
